Welcome to EnLightened
Orchids! We are glad you found us! Our web site is constantly
growing, so be sure to check back with us often.
We offer orchids and some companion plants that
are good candidates for growing under artificial light or on windowsills.
We also travel giving orchid-related lectures,
so pass the word to your garden club and orchid society.
Hate paying too much for shipping? We do not charge additional packing
fees at this time. With us, you pay what it actually costs-- nothing more!
**Announcements**
NEW insecticidal soap. Safer around kids and pets than typical insecticides, and it works! Perfect alternative to harsh chemicals for home growers. Effective against mealy bugs, aphids, thrips, scale, etc. Non-offensive smell, and gentle on hands. One for ounce bar makes five quarts. Complete instructions included.
Also added new pot sizes and by-pass pruners to the Supplies Catalog.
We are back from the 19th World Orchid Conference and Florida vacation. Thanks for your patience. It was great to meet some of you there as well as make some new friends! If you missed it, shame on you for six weeks. The next WOC will be in Singapore in 2011. Or see some of our pictures from the show.
With the weather being chilly BUT warming gradually, we'll still be using heat
packs for plant shipments as necessary. Please let us know when you
order if it will be cold where you are. We will hold shipments if necessary.
See Ernie's article on growing under fluorescent lights in the December,
2007 issue of Orchids magazine!

No engagements planned, contact us to book your event!
...We'll be happy to deliver orders to these events!
We will be reassessing our shipping procedures
since most carriers have raised their rates. USPS
seems to still be giving decent rates compared to the alternatives. We'll
keep you posted and will shop around for the best rate for each individual
shipment using Express-site
and InterShipper. Let us know if
you have a preferred carrier.
We've added a site that gives some simple instructions on building quick,
inexpensive, effective light gardens from PVC pipe. Check it out here!
